Searching for a Job in Your New Field

At Seacoast, our Career Services department wants your job search to be a team effort. We will work side-by-side with you when it comes to getting your job search underway. Our goal as your team member is to help you find a job that is a good fit with your skills, interests, and ambitions. Below are some of the ways our Career Services representatives help you.

Resumes & Cover Letters

A good cover letter accompanied by a solid resume can help you get an interview. Seacoast Career Services specialists work with our students to develop cover letters that will get noticed. By providing the information employers want to know, you open the door to being considered for a position.

Hiring managers always look at a resume to find out about your education, experience, and job skills. Seacoast Career Services will work with you to create a resume that best describes who you are and what you will bring to the position if you are hired. Whether the job application is online or on paper, our Career Services staff will help you prepare what you need.

Making Job Connections

If you know someone who works in your field of interest, that person can help you find a job by letting you know about possible job openings or serving as a reference on your resume. The more people you know within your field, the greater your network of job connections grows to be, and the easier it becomes to find out where the opportunities are. The Career Services specialists at Seacoast Career Schools can help you begin to build your own career network. We’ll steer you toward opportunities like job fairs, informational interviews, or organizations that you can join to learn more about your field.

Interview Skills

Strong interview skills are a necessity. You need to convince a potential employer that you are not only qualified for the job, but you are also the best fit for that job. Seacoast Career Services specialists will help you learn how to interview and effectively sell yourself and your newly acquired skills during an interview. We create an interview setting where our students repeatedly practice through mock interviews. Through practice, you will build your confidence and get comfortable with the interview process.
